The film REKRUT is about a story of a group of men where they have been recruited to train to become soldiers and to perform a special mission after their training.
The setting of the movie is in an open place where there are trees; I think they are in a forest, also near the sea and nowhere close to a city. It is where they are going to train, and the shot at the start were mostly wide shots to give the viewers an idea of the place. The lighting was good since they usually shoot in the morning so basically they just use the sun; also to give it a natural look since they were training and it was also good when night came since in my opinion there were no shots that lack in lighting. The costumes were appropriate since I recognize it because I had one when I was in the ROTC. I think that their uniforms differ from the officials so that it would distinguish them; training, and from the soldiers who conducted the training. The behavior of the trainees to their officers were respectful since they are just subordinates and if they do not respect there official like one did in the movie, he was hang upside down. The acting of the officers was just right showing the trainees who the boss is in that place.
In motion speed, there was this scene where they are supposed to train to defend their selves. While they are fighting, it was in slow motion and I think it is in slow motion so that it would give a dramatic effect to the scene. There were a lot of visual effects like the explosions; also the shots fired when the soldiers were ambushed and many more. But I guess, in a low budget film, you won’t be amazed with their visual effects, especially when an officer threw a grenade just a few meters from them and exploded in an instant. In reality, there is a split second where the grenade will go off, not immediately. There was a lot of dolly/track movement especially when they are training because the camera goes with them while they are jogging. A close up shot was used when they are in a fight so that the audiences get a feeling what’s it like and eye angle shot when they are talking and eating because when they are eating they should be seated straight and eyes up front.
